Old and New
January 30, 2013
it’s amazing what two years of more post-processing knowledge and ebtter software can do to images. While putting new images to my website, I came across many images that I had processed in the past, which look terrible to my eye now. One example is the White Morh Reddish Egret I photographed back in 2010 in Florida. I photographed this bird at first light in the morning, in beautiful turquoise water. However, I didn’t find a way to create that scene once I was at the computer. The file I processed turned out terrible with a reddish/yellowish bird and dark and dull water.
Now, three years later, I know that I just had to move a few sliders differently…. This is what I did and was finally able to create an image that I like, which shows the bird and water in accurate and vibrant colors.
It’s crazy when you think that those two images were created from the same original and with the same amount of work put in!

My NEW Website
January 20, 2013
is finally online. I wanted a new one for years, but never got it done. It took me ages to find the right person, who could do what I wanted to create. Finally my friend Jacob Spendelow (www.tringa.org), who is also a great birdphotographer, offered to create my new site. He has done an outstanding job and created a website I am more than happy with. I wanted a modern and clean look that puts the images into the center of attention.
My favorite part is the home page with the map of Australia, created from many small images, which can be all clikced individually.
I have already added more than 1500 images, but a large part is still missing, I will add them as soon as I reprocessed them. So you can expect to see new images on a constant basis.
I would love to hear what you think and if you find any issues using the site.
I am in love with the new site and hope you enjoy it, too!
